Dartford 4 Bromley 1 – BSS – 02/05/2011 –
Bromley suffered a bitterly disappointing end to the season with a humiliating defeat against their near neighbours in the Kent Senior Cup Final on May Day.
The game began in open style with both sides looking to attack, Lee Noble headed just wide for The Darts while Harry Harding was denied by Deren Ibrahim after good work by Harrison Dunk. Dartford took the lead on 19mins when a deep corner was bundled over the line by Elliott Bradbrook. Straight from the kick off Harding had a great chance to equalise but he blazed over from 10yards out. Wes Daly went close with a free kick just before the break, but The Ravens couldn’t make their pressure count while they had the strong wind at their backs.
The second half was all Dartford as Bromley fell apart, a low cross from the left was turned home by Ryan Hayes on 49mins and the game was over as a contest on 55mins when a Hayes corner was dropped into his own net by Craig Holloway to make it 3-0. The fourth came on the hour mark when Danny Harris cashed in on poor defending with a smart finish. Hayden Bird switched to 4-4-2 and it had some effect as The Darts stopped scoring at will and Warren McBean pulled one back on 75mins firing under Ibrahim when one on one. The last few minutes passed away without incident before the home side were able to celebrate their comfortable victory against woefully poor opposition.
Quote for the game, 'They won it without even being very good.' - Ray.
Bromley: Holloway, Fray, Graves, Harwood, Nnamani, Daly, Henriques, Harding, McBean, Ide.
Subs: England, Jones, Udoji, Agu, Sobers.
