Chelmsford City 2 Bromley 0 – BSS – 25/04/2011 Bromley suffered their first defeat in four games as they were swept aside by play off chasing Chelmsford at Melbourne Park on Easter Monday. After an open start to the game Chelmsford went on to dominate the play and put The Ravens under increasing pressure, young debutant Keeper Paul Agu made two fine saves from Gray as the Bromley defence held out and they even had one promising break when Warren McBean fired just wide. The second half saw the pattern continue with Agu saving from Modeste and the home side got their break on 48mins when they were awarded a harsh penalty for handball against David Graves. Gray tucked the spot kick away and then immediately Bromley suffered another blow when Jerrome Sobers limped off. Harrison Dunk & McBean went close on rare breaks for The Ravens, but it was 2-0 on the hour mark when a great cross from Ake was headed home by Tan. Nunn went close twice as The Clarets pushed for more and Bromley then lost defender Jerry Nmnani to injury, but late on McBean hit the bar and Dunk missed the rebound as The Ravens still tried to make a game of it in difficult circumstances.
Quote for the game, 'We might as well start 1-0 down here.' - Sue. Bromley: Agu, Graves, Dunk, Sobers, Harwood, Nmnani, England, Henriuqes, Daly, McBean Finn. Subs: Harding, Jones, Udoji.
