Just watched the highlights of the Thurrock game and was shocked. When did they gain some fans and a flag??? Admittedly games against Thurrock are rarely amongst the ones I look out for at the start of the season so it's been a while since I saw us play them, but that really did knock me for 6. I remember a few years back that even for a live televised first round FA Cup game v Luton they only had about 400 (Luton) fans show up...

Not did a few Thurrock fans make the journey, but they were brilliant. Despite us dominating the game they never stopped supporting their team & really showed us home fans a few things about getting behind your team.
Maybe it's a reflection on recent performances that so few were behind the goal that night, & equally maybe a few players have made us less than enthusiastic, but the noise really has dropped in the last year or so, all the songs have gone. I guess a few of the ringleaders have moved on to other things & no one has taken their place on the whole. I think there was a little group a while back but I'm sure I read that they were banned for their troubles (presumably they did a bit more than just shout support). If we can play like we did the last 2 games, next weekend, then that should be enough to get the crowd behind the team again
