Bromley 1 Thurrock 0 – BSS – 29/03/2011 – Colin Head Bromley secured their first league win in two months with a committed and hard working display against relegation threatened Thurrock at Hayes Lane on Tuesday night. Lining up 3-5-2 Bromley started positively with Harrison Dunk enjoying the freedom of the wing back role pushing forward. Harry Harding forced a save from Joe Woolley and Wes Daly fired a free kick wide as The Ravens dominated, the closest they came to scoring was late on when Jerome Sobers hit the bar with a header from a corner, but they couldn’t find a way through before the break. The second half continued in the same vein with David Graves firing just over and Leon McKenzie heading narrowly wide against his old club. Thurrock nearly took the lead with a rare attack, but Sobers heroically cleared off the line injuring himself in the process. The Ravens finally got their break through when a scramble from a corner was drilled home by McKenzie from close range. Soon after McKenzie hit the post and Wes Daly fired the rebound wide, then Woolley denied McKenzie again before the game came to an end with Bromley’s players exhausted but elated at their well deserved win. Quote for the game, 'Someone's had a word.' - Kev. Bromley: Lovelock, Graves, Dunk, Nnamani, Sobers, Harwood, Henriques, Harding, Daly, Ide, McKenzie. Subs: Udoji, Finn, Simpson, Agu, England.
