To celebrate my 25 year anniversary watching Bromley tomorrow (the Conference South Trophy keeps nicely with the silver theme...) and the closure of this forum which has been there for many of those years, I thought I'd put together my 2 all time Bromley elevens.
The best players - Managed by Mark Goldberg
Foderingham Holland Swaine Adedeji Dunk PJD Adeniyi J Francis McCleary McDonnell McBean Subs Zahana-Oni, Goldberg, Anderson, Prestedge, Wordsworth, Ademola, Hayes
The Bromley Legends - Managed by George Wakeling
Walker Rawlings Sharman Henriques Wood Hall Waldren Coles Watts Tompkins Falana
Subs Cooksey, Moore, Loveday, Amoako, Harris, Gordon, Richards
I'm sure I have missed someone out so apologies there and that there will be space for people like Anthony Cook in there in a year's time.
I also tried to think of some "one hit wonders" who contributed something fairly significant in one of very few appearances. I came up with
Kevin Kennedy - Scored his only goal for Bromley in our promotion season from the Ryman Premier - it was the match winner v Chelmsford
Fraser Logan - Joined us on loan for the final weeks of the season in our Ryman South winning season - scored one of the pens v Met Police.
There was also a midfielder who played about 2 games for us when we were in the Ryman South and then left us for Southend. He played in THAT game v Carshalton where we beat the Champions-elect 4-0 with ten men - one of the best midfield performances I've ever seen in a Bromley shirt.

One of my favourite memories of this forum was when somebody (I think it was 'bains') posted something on here when we played Tonbridge Angels. It was something along the lines of 'what are the chances Sobers will score'. I replied 'hopefully in his own net!'. A few days later, that's exactly what happened. Psychic.
P.S. I should mention Sobers was at Tonbridge at the time, just read that back and it could of caused a bit of confusion.
Two players that I will always remember is The 2 Gareth Williams. They will always stick out in my mind when I think of memories of Bromley.

Leke Odunsi... Now he was class at that level. An all too brief spell with us, as well as an all too brief career cut short by injury. His performance in that Carshalton game (when they were managed by Graham Roberts) was outstanding. Just a shame we only played like that a couple of times that season! I retain a soft spot for Carl Bartley as well. I was reminiscing with a couple of people the other day about the time again British American Tobacco where the opposing number 5 got him sent off deliberately, then himself got his marching orders 5 minutes later. However, he refused to leave the pitch as Bartley was waiting for him in the tunnel! I'd loved to have seen a strike partnership of him and Falana although we'd definitely have finished bottom of the fair play standings.

Funny you bring up that Carshalton game. There are 3 photos, 2 by Sveno and one recent one, that about sum up my 21 years supporting Bromley.
First is from the Carshalton game, the Stefan Ball goal celebration one that gets wheeled out from time to time. That game still ranks as one of my favourite of all time.
The second is the Grays FA Cup game which also features my father-in-law and Andy Walker's father (my wife's late uncle). For that reason alone it brings back good memories.
The last is from a month ago, Brad's goal v Borehamwood. My youngest is right at the front as Brad wheels away with me, my eldest and my father-in-law screaming in the stands!

Probably Barry Moore and definitely Ryan Hall too. Cooksey and Pat Gordon would be in the legends XI for Waldren and Hall. He's been mentioned earlier in this thread, but I always had major soft spot for Jerrome Sobers so he would probably be in there somewhere. Francis Duku too... man this would be difficult!

Haha, that's fantastic, but how on Earth did you find that? Even better, the unofficial fans' website is still accessible too. Check it out for a look into the bleak, murky underworld of Non League obscurity... www.geocities.ws/gazette25/bfop4.html

It was very tough. Barry Moore was the hardest player to leave out of the two teams, a more balanced "best XI" would have had him in rather than Peter or Joe, but I opted for a real champagne midfield! Hally for me is first and foremost a Bromley Legend (THAT goal, coming back to play for free, only Bromley player I can remember who has his own flag...) hence his inclusion in that team. As to the Dunk/Wood debate, I'm possibly in the minority to prefer Dunk. Facts at the moment show Sam has had a better league career, but I think there's more to come from Harrison. Loved Cooksey but Danny all the way for me. Duku and Sobers were great centre-backs but simply don't figure in either for me compared to the 4 I've selected (and Jack Holland).
Others worthy of consideration:- Luckett, Osborn, Drewett, Fuseini, Bartley, Ginger Williams, Denton, Morgan, Hamberger, Tinker Taylor, Mick Brown, Devine, Boot, McMenemy, Bumstead, Gray, Corneille, O'Sullivan, Mike Jones, Martin Coates, Woolf, Dennington, Araba, Gary Campbell... the list goes on and on.
Stefan Ball (for his goal in that Carshalton game) and Jon Goodman (for earning the club £50k without playing in a competitive game) have to feature among the "one hit wonders" too.

Another brief star for us was Omari Coleman. Released by Welling on the Wednesday, signed for us on Thursday and scored both goals against Welling in a 2-1 win on his debut that Saturday. He was named in Welling's line up in the programme for the match!

Can't believe that only exiled has included Keith Sharman! A favourite of mine from the Wakeling period, even went to see him play on trial for Charlton reserves.

Fair point, may have him on the bench instead of a sub keeper.
