Congratulations from the Boreham Wood supporters to all at Bromley FC for winning the league. A great achievement. I'm sure we'll be seeing you in the Conference Premier (of whatever it's gonna be called) next season.

Thanks Pieman. Hope we can see you again next , if only to visit The Red Lion in Radlett. Good luck with the play offs. Whitehawk away on a mid-week evening is about as appealing as Ebbsfleet! Still , we now have Braintree to look forward to.Wetherspoons pub in a converted cinema, retaining its original interior was a bizarre experience- even more bizarre than our subsequent 2-0 win. It all went t**s up afterwards

thanks Curtis - nice touch. I very much enjoyed the trip to Wealdstone this season, really friendly gaff. Good luck for next season. And John, yea I remember the Braintree fixture, a great win as they were flying at the time, I remember Tony Finn running the length of the pitch to seal the win late on, Sweet as.
And after the events of yesterday I was thinking of another game - it was only two years ago, almost to the day I'd say - when we got spanked at home by Hayes and Yeading 4-0 and we had 2 men sent off (Marlon P was one , can't recall the other), it was a horrible grey drizzly day. Then fast forward two seasons, sealing promotion to the Conf Prem in the sunshine....but that's life I guess.... it just goes to show, don't ever give up

Pieman and Curtis, that's very kind of you to come and congratulate us, thank you very much! Both of your clubs have done well this season also so congrats to you guys as well!
And Rich, the other player was Sanchez Ming. I remember his red card challenge provoked the victim to get up and push him in the face which got him sent off too. I also remember we were 0-3 down after 12 minutes! That was one of the worst games I have ever been to... But times like that in some ways makes promotion all the better. Brrrooooooooommmm

I can't believe we'll be playing league matches against a side that were League Cup Finalists not that long ago. Around about the same time we were playing in front of a 100 or so in Ryman One!

Just think, we will get our own section and link on the BBC Sport website - and we will get match reports. What a time to be alive!
Talking of the BBC Sport site - what a joke - we get promoted to Conf National - not a mention.... FC United of Manchester get promoted to the North - all over that. Salford City get promoted to the Pritt Stick League Northern Counties Combined League 4 or something, and they're all over that.
Good old Premier League bias and lazy journalism!

I'm surprised with the Mark Goldberg/Palace thing, that the BBC Sport site didn't think fit to mention at least mention it in that derivative context. The FC United story isn't that remarkable, they have by far the biggest fanbase and profile in the Northern Premier League and should have got to Conference North ages ago. They've got a new ground up in the Newton Heath/Moston area which is where Manchester United were originally formed. Take note AFC Norbiton. My mum grew up in Birkenhead and I always used to go and watch Tranmere when I went to visit my grandparents. It'd be utterly surreal to see us on equal terms next season.

I've been conspiracy theorising that a diehard AFC Wimbledon fan works at the Beeb after their cup tie was shown on TV. I've also seen the Sutton v Coventry game played out many times on there. Just saying...
Oh well. We will definitely be given a higher profile!

Probably the same Wimbledon fan who managed to get that Ryan Hall goal shoehorned into football focus for the pundits to say how "disgraceful" it was.

I cant remember much of what went on at Hayes Lane as I think I only caught one or two of our games in season 1999/2000, but I was at the league cup final of that year in my other life as a Leicester supporter. The Tranmere fans I met and chatted with were a cracking bunch. Looking forward to renewing their acquaintance.

Tranmere and Cheltenham down in the Conference next year then. A couple of good trips there. I can only imagine the bewilderment in Birkenhead right now.
