Well today wasn't too shabby was it...our win, and a decent pair of other results too.
Up the Brom!

Crap ? Really ? i thought we played some good football in 1st half & should have been in front at half time . The 2nd half we started quick & got the 2nd goal ,will say we never looked like scoring once Brad went off it was just a case of hanging on & we did .

I didn't think it was crap either. There may have been some nerves out there bearing in mind it's getting closer, but for 75 minutes we were in control against a team who aren't a million miles off the play offs. It was only those last 15 mins where it looked like the equalizer was going to come, as we backed right off & gave Eastbourne license to attack.

Good to grind out another well earned win, at least we have made it slightly bearable going into next week although that will be a nerve racking afternoon! On a side note I made a time-lapse video of todays game which can be found here - www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aML24eTFjI I also did one for the Ebbsfleet game which is on that same account, would be greatly appreciated if you checked them out! Thanks

James, the time-lapse video is great! Would like to have seen a fraction more of the build-ups, but that's a quibble. Well done Bromley (he says through gritted teeth) - unquestionably the best side Eastbourne have played, in both the games between the clubs, and I hope you don't slip up now. Weston, for goodness sake....
Also on a "side note" I foolishly left behind my Vodafone tablet, on the press desks. It's not actually massively valuable but I'm hoping to drive up in the week and get it back, if someone who's doing a Sunday morning clean-up can spot it and maybe leave it in the club office? (I have also dropped a message to the club.) Thanks!

Is that the one I sold at the Bricklayers for a bullseye? (To be fair, I got a hand shandy out of it as well - seemed a good deal at the time.)
Being sober for the third game running, I have to admit I have some sympathy for Lynchmob's argument... This was not a great advertisement for Conference South football. Eastbourne played like a side happy to be about to start the summer holiday; we were better, with Cook typically dangerous and Reece playing another blinder, but after Bradley went off I felt we were in no danger of disturbing the onion bag. As MG said to me afterwards, the last 20 minutes in particular were far from pretty.
However, that matters not a jot in the greater scheme of things... It was a huge game which we won.
We must arrange some kind of mass meet-up ahead of Saturday's fixture... Yes, I know we all hate each other but for one afternoon at least we should surely put that to one side for the greater good.

Not the best performance today but a great result against a good side that played well using the right tactics against us. can't understand why they didn't play their number 17 from the start, I thought he was a candidate for man of the match, well done to PJD for helping to deal with him, it was needed. Reece was the difference today, solid and uncompromising as usual. There have been seasons were I have questioned the commitment of some Bromley squads but I am happy to say that for the last couple, even if we don't play well, everyone is giving a 100% and it matters to every one of them. Great video jamestanner, I think I'll be watching it a few more times, very affective.

Can't comment on the first half as I only arrived at the start of the 2nd. Agree it wasn't the best display of football I have seen down the lane. Although saying that there were some good quality moment and we looked in some form of control. It was just the last 20 we allowed ourselves to look vulnerable. Eastbourne kept targeting that left hand side and kept on finding men over there with plenty of space. Yet at the end of the day none of that matters now. Brads shot went in and Julians fantastic double save made sure we held on to win the match. We got the results at home like we needed to, and saw 100% from the players like we should expect to. If the Havant vs stoke result goes in our favour next week, we finally will be able to bundle ourselves across that finishing line. One more win bromley, just one more win boys!

I know it's a massive cliche but the players have got to just treat it as a normal game (easier said than done I know). I've heard that the league trophy will at the ground on Saturday awaiting presentation at the end of the game IF we're successful (league policy apparently!), which isn't going to help matters! For those of us old enough to remember 1989 who can forget the title decider at Anfield when the Scousers had the title wrapped up with just one minute to go, and then a certain M. Thomas stepped up to change the course of football history! Different circumstances of course, but let's hope it's us Ravens reaching 'Fever Pitch' at the end of the game! p.s. my favourite quote from said book, which I can relate to “For alarmingly large chunks of an average day, I am a moron.”

Crap second half yesterday. Embarrasing at times. If all we can do for 45 minutes is punt the bloody ball up the field to no one in particular, huff and puff, win it back and then punt it up the field towards our lone donkey or one of their players again & again rather than trying to play a bit of football (like Eastbourne did actually) then we don't deserve the title. We should at least try and get some moves going now and then. Just my opinion and not shared by anyone else here i'm sure as three points is three points. Sorry.

Thought we played some reasonable football in small doses.Players gave 100%. Almost ridiculous to sit back in those last 20 minutes and try to defend, lumping balls up anywhere just coming straight back down the left hand side putting yourself back under pressure is folly. Only Jules great save and some desperate defending got us the result. But the result we got ! And thats what counts. Hope we go out in front of a 2K + crowd next week get an early goal and settle into a noisy promotion party. Players and fans and those supporting the club deserve it now.

I absolutely just want the club to up and believe we will-however......the play is embarrasing at times. You have a front man whos 5 ft nothing and the only times we look dangerous in the 1st half is when the ball is played on the floor......thats what created our clear-cut goal scoring opp in 1st half which we pathetically squandered...twice we were through but poor decision-making in not crossing and then crossing when too late and wildly skewing a shot when free in front of goal was poor.I cant understand why we just give it anywhere instead of putting foot on the ball and find a white-move and get it back..I can only conclude too many of our players are uncomfortable in possesion and feel safe giving it away. Next season is the conference national will need a total overhaul as the current quality wont play the type of football sufficient to stay up or to get higher. Decision-making in general is poor and we will need much more finncial support for travel, overnigh stays-full-time vs part-time will also be a factor.Almost all the part-time teams struggle in Conf national....Dont mean to be negative and im happy we look like reaching new heights but this team is not good enough to sustain life in conf national imho

Is this for real???
We are one win (two draws) away from winning the league and people are still moaning???
Laughable really!! The long balls probably have something to do with the cabbage patch pitch we have, makes it impossible to play passing football! You don't sit top of the league for nothing!!!
As for not being good enough to survive in Conf National!! That's like a team winning the championship not being good enough to survive in the premier league ! No real basis to it!!!
I can't believe some of this forum - we are on the brink of history at Bromley Fac and people still want to moan and complain! Enjoy it - this may never happen again - enjoy the highs FFS!

I can't believe some of this forum - we are on the brink of history at Bromley Fac and people still want to moan and complain! Enjoy it - this may never happen again - enjoy the highs FFS! It's called a forum for a reason... It's a place to exchange opinions, not just the ones you happen to like. No basis to it... Interesting. Is that why the three teams most likely to be relegated from the PL this year are the precise three which went up last season? There's absolutely a basis to it. I was very careful in my original post but fortunately a few people have come out and said openly what I was happy to hint at. If we played like we did in the second half against any Conference side I've seen this season we'd get humiliated. The pitch does have a bearing on that - but not for long, as the surface is being converted to 3G in the very near future, as many of you will know - but nerves were probably more of an issue. Which is entirely understandable; as a Club, we don't yet know how to drag ourselves over the finishing line, as we've never done it before. It's a great testament to their character that the lads were still able to win, in spite of the frankly awful football being played in the second half. I think we're capable of enjoying Saturday (*if* we win!) without any exhortation to do so from yourself or anyone else, mate. (You've obviously never seen me in the bar after any and all matches!) But it would, would it not, be short-sighted in the extreme, to celebrate even something as huge as winning a league without giving at least some thought to the new season which will, after all, start just three months after the final whistle is blown at Gosport Borough? As I never tire of repeating: this is a football club, not a cult. WORD.

Couldnt agree more. This team got us to the top of this division where they deserve to be. The pitch is rubbish, gets over used and needs a serious overhaul.Groundsman does an amazing job considering the use it gets.Several times yesterday crosses went astray as the ball bobbled before being hit. That said the last 20 mins yesterday maybe gave us a clue as to why we have lost at least six points to late goals recently, sitting back is not a good idea with a makeshift defence particularly against teams that look like they would cave in if we just kept getting at them. Any team stepping up a division will meed to strengthen the squad thats obvious,we will be playing much better teams some fully pro with league experience. One win now may be more than enough.Stop moaning and enjoy the party next week, hopefully. Things are now looking good off the field and attendances are increasing and will potentially be good enough to sustain a position in the Conf National.

A metaphor for the Club's evolution from Kent League clodhoppers to fully professional upstarts?
