There's a hundred or so faithful fans there today who know how exactly how MG feels. 6 points thrown away over the course of 3 games at Hemel, Bath and today really isn't what you expect from potential title winners. At least we've mathematically guaranteed a play off place now! I've just taken a couple of painkillers to relieve the neckache caused by us aimlessly hoofing it up to no one in particular, and I can't remember us stringing 3 passes together all afternoon. On the plus side got a bit of a tan from the second half sun. The well worn phrases 'still in our hands' and 'we go again on Saturday' which get trotted every week are really starting to wear a bit thin now. Of course there will be some saying if we win our 3 remaining games we will be champions but those people can't have been watching us throw away leads on a regular basis. The play offs are beginning to look more likely with each passing game. Hopefully will be proved wrong, If I had a cat I'd be off to kick it.

To be fair, we did execute some good attacking football. PJD had a chance which (if converted) would have been a goal of the season contender; Reece's goal was the culmination of an attractive move; and Cook looked dangerous all game. However, we were poor defensively - which is what cost us.

Let us be 'positive' for a moment: at least it makes the rest of the run-in exciting. I for one wouldn't object if we had to go to Gosport and get something down there... Would be memorable, if nothing else.

its getting to the point where i hope we are still in with a chance going to Gosport ,with Basingstoke right back in it now its going to be a fight to the finish ,the pessimist in me says we wont do it not getting luck with injuries ,illness (slabber ) & late goals conceded .
