Would you believe he's gone up there to see it live, coming back tonight and then going to Maidenhead tomorrow. He does love his footy.

Good lad Motts, came back straight after game to be at Maidenhead today, wishing I was up there last night & not bothered with todays game!! But hey ho! Atmosphere yesterday was unbelievable, probably the best I have seen at a Wear-Tyne derby for a long time.h

I did debate that Lynchy, coming straight back, but as it was a bank hol Monday thought I'd afford myself the luxury of a night opposite Roker Pier.
Atmosphere in the city centre was understandably buoyant until the early hours. Such a part of the community up there. Passion for all to see. Passed down to us from each generation.
