It's started to be discussed in the Bath thread but think it deserves a thread on its own:
Here's my predictions for the run in- It means us finishing level on points with Basingstoke. However, if the last 10 games is anything to go by my predictions are incorrect and we'll be OK. avergae 2 points per game
In summary- I'm not sure!
Loose on Saturday then I think we'll loose to Borehamwood as well.
If it comes down to the last game, we've certainly got the toughest- (I'll be there- got the hotel booked)
Bromley (last 10 games - 20 points out of possible 30- 2 defeats) A Bath City W H BorehamWood D A Maidenhead W H Eastbourne D H WestonSM W A Gosport L
Total 77
Basingstoke (last 10 games - 21 points out of possible 30 - 1 defeat in last 10) H Wealdstone W A Hayes & Yeading W H Farnborough W A Sutton D H Havant & W D A Weston SM W
Total 77
BorehamWood (last 10 games - 17 points out of last 30) H Hemel D A Bromley D H Sutton W A Ebbsfleet Away W A Chelsmford L
Total 73

Not sure I can predict either Basingstoke or BorehamWood results, but for us I'd say
A Bath City W H BorehamWood D A Maidenhead W H Eastbourne D H WestonSM D A Gosport D / W
So I think 10 more points giving a total of 76 BUT if we need a win at Gosport we'll get it!

If one the thing the past week or so should have taught us is you cant look past the next game! Who could have predicted a 1 nil reverse by Staines!
I dont think Basingstoke will stay unbeaten for the remainder of the season, they have a few toughies in there (Wealdstone, Sutton, Havant!)
Its gonna be a rollercoaster ride, if we dont come out on top, we certainly need to dust ourselves down and put up a playoff fight!

I agree with the one game at a time principle in that we need to focus on beating the team in front of us each time. We do, however, need to be conscious of the fact that we have little room for error and be conscious of the future challenges we face. I don't think Basingstoke will win every game but I also don't think they will drop many points (I hope I'm wrong). The 77 and 76 points predicted above won't be enough in my view.

the one game at a time policy cannot be argued with. That and concentrating on our own game and not worrying what Boreham Wood, B'Stoke, or anyone else are doing. The 3 home games on consecutive saturdays in April need to see our home form greatly improve, which, as has been alluded to in previous threads has been somewhat poor this season. That said, we the fans have a part to play at the Lane in getting behind the team rather than the overt criticism which was witnessed last Sat, imo this may be one of the reasons our away form is better than the home form, do the players feel more relaxed and less under pressure ? I try and get to away games when work allows and as a rule of thumb - and granted it's poss a bit of a stereotypical view - but the travelling fan would appear to have a far more realistic outlook, we may be top of the league but we don't have a God-given right to walk every game... Just a thought. KTF

I apologise for being so pessimistic but I have an overpowering sense of deja vu now regarding this season. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see us getting anything from the Bath and Borehamwood games, which will put immense pressure on winning all the remainder. Once again, I hope I'm wrong.
ps. The off field rumours are not helping my optimism and hope some official clarification from the club is posted soon

If I'm honest I think everyday match day will throw up surprise results, I can't see all the top teams staying unbeaten plus any team can beat another team in this league which makes for an exciting end to the season.
Last Saturday couldn't of gone any worse for us due to the fact the top teams won, This Saturday could be totally different with result maybe going or not going our way. I do think if we're in the same position were in with three games to go then will do it, so in my eyes the next three will be very important if we are to win the league.

Yesterdays results show that I'm hopeless at predictions- so I'll stop there!

The players with the biggest bollox are going to win this now. We are in the driving seat with a home game against our nearest rivals on Saturday. How much better than that can it get.
No excuses now !

I think it's more frustrating as expectations are high this term. With the money we have had and the choice of players this season it's been hard not to think that this could be our year. Cracking away form but a pony home. one. I stand by I think we have thrown away seven points recently. But what's done is done. Sometimes I think we don't have a ruthless streak and can't shut up shop when required. The Wood will be tough and set out to bully us Saturday. It's a hang on to your hats event. If we desire it enough we can win it. And go into the run in with tails up. Come on you Lillywhites!

I agree - the home form this year has been beyond frustrating. If we manage to rectify that in the last 3 home games of the season and get 9 points, we'll not only remove that (pretty major) blot from our copy book but we'll almost certainly win the league. Hopefully Jack will be back on Saturday and we'll have a full squad to choose from for the first time since... erm....

2 wins from our remaining 4 games,76 points, will now get us promoted unless Boreham or Basingstoke win all their remaining games. We have seen off Boreham today and they will not win there last three games. Basingstoke need to drop a point somewhere !
Thats as good as it gets

away to Sutton & home to Havant not easy games for Basingstoke ,but its so tough to predict .At least its in our hands & today in 2nd half showed how good things can be when crowd truly gets behind the team .

Now that we are in control we need to just focus on beating each team we come up against. Fact is, if we win the next 3 no-one can do anything to stop us. It might be we won't need to do that depending on how things go for the others, but why take the risk? Maidenhead, Eastbourne and Weston will all give us a tough game and the players will need to show the same fight, drive and attitude they did today to get through each of those games, but we are more than capable of 3 wins. Anyone at Maidenhead 2 years ago will have bad memories of the place, time to put those ghosts to rest.
