Bromley 0 Charlton Athletic 4 – Friendly – 27/07/11
Bromley were comprehensively beaten by a strong Charlton XI at Hayes Lane on Wednesday night whose superior fitness and composure in front of goal told in the second half.
After an even start Bradley Pritchard had Charlton’s first chance but was denied by Dean Santangelo in the home goal. Bromley had their best spell of the game with the impressive Hakeem Araba going close twice and Tutu Henriques also forcing a good save from Connor Gough, but it was The Addicks who broke the deadlock on 27minutes when Jason Euell scored with a powerful finish just inside the box. Going into the break Araba had a shout for a penalty and Joe Dolan had a header saved by Gough, but The Ravens couldn’t find a way through.
The second half was all Charlton, Freddie Warren and Callum Harriott went close before Tosan Popo made it 2-0 on 63minutes taking his chance well. Warren went close again before Harriott made it 3-0 on 79minutes with a great finish. Former Addicks man Tamer Tuna had an effort saved for Bromley, but the League One visitors made it 4-0 on 83minutes when Ade Azeez headed home a corner to finish off a good night for Chris Powell’s men.
