Great to be at the Lane today to see a 2-1 win.The academy boys did well for us in the 2nd half.Would like to know if Leon is gonna appear this season at some point.Great win though considering we went 1 down.Good boost for the lads as it was there 1st game together.

On the same note... Still holding out for Sobers unless he has signed for someone else?

Really? Bit strange to see Sobers watching today if he has signed for someone else. Also saw Gilman and Corneille there today.
In all honesty when I saw the line-up I thought we would be in for a mauling today - men against boys and all that. But to be fair we were well coached - had a good shape etc. We did, however, get away with things at the back on a number of occasions and in a meaningful match we probably wouldn't have done so.
All in all though it was enjoyable and good to see the comaraderie and effort. Even thought Marlon fitted in well which I didn't think I would say based on last year.

was good to see Marlon & Dolby today thats the left side sorted ,glad Tutu is back too & was captain,Dolan did well & Hockton looked as fit as ive ever seen him, dont know who the lad up front with him was in 1st half but he did ok. Orlando Smith has played for us before in friendlies wonder if he is here to stay this time. The lads who played 2nd half did well Ross Hill took his goals well,Dave Beasants son ,Tuna & was very impressed with the busy Elliot Jones also nice to see Rob Hughes looking so lively .In truth a lucky win but we hung on in there & got rewarded.

If Sobers has gone to Billericay that is very strange.Gillman does seem to be hanging around the club so maybe there is some truth in him coming in.If the club is going the way we have all been told re finances then maybe there is the wage budget for him.Any news on Leon,Butler anyone?

No news on Leon i think he would be the perfect strike partner for Hockton ,presume we have no other keeper didnt see one on bench anyway. Someone spoke to Cornielle he said he hopes to sign.Dont know what the deal is with Gilman but i doubt he could partner Dolan .

Leon is training elsewhere.
Danny??? I saw his games for Thurrock and bless him he scored zero goals and other than heading the first ball did nothing. Very backward step methinks.
Dolan is good. I always liked Reiss Boyle. Not convinced about the right side in the first half...right back/mid.... Not convinced about either striker.
Second half some good stuff from the lads mentioned above. Tuna played briefly at Thurrock and was useful. Beasant could be useful but would need to see him again to make a better judgement. Would much prefer these to the first half strikers though.
