i like the sound of this ,its about time some of the Academy got a chance ,its the only way to find out if they are good enough for this level ,at least they should be keen to do well & not just there for cash,to be honest i doubt we will have too many there for the money this season. Looking forward to a commited team trying to play good football ,no lazy shirkers . At least the club are being open about the situationwith budget etc.

It's a good refreshing article. I liked HB's chest thumping last year, but the problem was that the signings we were making didn't correspond with it. He'd be doing his best to talk about play offs still, but his hands were obviously tied because the level of players he was signing didn't correspond with that & you'd have preferred a more logical response reflecting that.
I'm sure it's not only going to be the academy + Harwood & Tutu as we'll be relegated before Xmas without a bit more quality than that, but when Osborn had a similar scenario of having to play some youngsters, we didn't do too badly as there seemed to be a decent team spirit - seem to remember we were only a Nic McDonnell away from the plays offs in the end that season. Prefer the idea of continuing to build the infrastructure than spend on promotion without the back up to support it if it happens. I'm sure we won't be aiming for one place above relegation & if playoffs happen then great, but better to have the structure to try & support a push for the next level rather than come straight back down again (Lewes anyone?).
Interesting article on Chelmsford today, almost hinting at them doing the opposite & throwing everything at getting promotion, though they have the possible fear of being moved to BSS if you believe what you read on the web

Reading all the press from the club since the announcement of the new management team I find it very refreshing that they are being honest with the supporters about what can be achieved and their expectations. It’s a pleasant change from the over hyped over selling we’ve had in the past and foolish talk of play offs etc. It’s in the Bromley psyche to enjoy a battle for survival and often when the fans are at their best.

I was listening to the non league show last night and MG was on it.He basically said near enough the same as in the news shopper interview.Sounded excited about being back, said he had been watching a few players that he is looking to bring in but i did get the feeling that there is going to be enough experience to help the younger one's.This season is all about consolidation as far as MG is concerned (his words).

I am happy that the club is being open about its aims ,just hope that we can be competitive especialy at home ,at £12 a game some of us will turn up through loyalty, habit, stupidity (pick one) but some are more choosy on how they spend their cash . In the past one bad game has led to a drop in attendance for a while .

You can never second guess the Bromley footballing public, last year we had 800 on a Satuday for Farnbrough and then 400 three days later for Woking. But in main the pattern seems to be that beyond the 400 regulars they will only show up for a winning team, which could be a problem this season.

At least we know where our expectation levels should be for the coming season. Really Interested to see what experience he puts in the side, have to have an experienced keeper in my opinion.

I think Tutu and Sobers will be in along with Mckenzie,as for anyone else,i reckon it's gonna be whoever he has been keeping an eye on as he has said.Maybe Harwood will be there though can't see it as MG was the one that let him go in the first place.Would like to see Butler back in goal because i thought he was playing well for us under MG before he left.Do wonder now whether MG will try and get Foderingham back given the connections.Wonder if he will try and get Dolby back?

I am happy with Mr Goldberg being back, while i sometimes found his lack of substitutions till the last 20 mins to go frustrating, at least we nearly always got goals and good entertainment. I always thought he had a good plan A but never seemed to have a plan B to fall back on. Hopefully what ever happened to make him leave last year has been sorted out or else he would not be back. As i have posted before i thought HB was a disaster but now i am really looking foward to the new season with some good looking away days. 100% effort is all i really ask, if we get that i am sure we will have a good season.

I think Harwood has signed for Ebbsfleet? And I understand that MG has had discussions with Sobers, Dolby and Corneille, no doubt amongst many others. I'd love to see Mark C back in a Bromley shirt. As far as I'm aware he didn't play for anyone at all last season, certainly not at anything like our level if he did and that's surely a waste of a season. I hope he can come to an agreement with MG, he's a Bromley boy through and through.

How can Harwood have signed for Ebbsfleet when he was supposed to have signed with us a captain?

Not heard anything about Harwood, but Ebbsfleet have released Gareth Williams

Havent seen anything about Harwood going to Ebbsfleet, hope he stays with us & builds his career up again ,seems to have had injuries & lost his way a bit but was looking good at the end of last season as he got more games under his belt .As for Ginge we would never afford him even if the club wanted him back.

I think Harwood as captain was a Bird idea, I've said before that was it said to me on the last day of the season. Maybe MG thinks differently.
