MG is back

I have also heard that MG is back and he will be first team manager next year. While some will most probably moan, at least it will be entertaining. Apparently Welling Captain said no despite getting a good offer as it would have had implications with his day job. I've also heard how much we were offering him and if its true our finances are not in a bad way either. First good bit of news for ages.

If we did offer the Welling Capt but he said no due to work, then how did he sign a new contract with Welling ten days ago? Surely the impact on work would have been the same?

He coaches in schools etc which i believe is his buisness, apparently Bromley wanted him to get involved in their schemes which he was not prepared to do.

I heard he was back on speaking terms with people, but that's a long way off a comeback. With Hayden now MD of BFC it could be a bit wierd.
Not sure going back is the way forward if you know what i mean!

Essentially I agree with Col, but one thing that can always be said is that Goldberg has never done badly while manager.

If true, I'll be very glad he's back in some form. But I'm not anti Bird either, I don't think he's done a bad job overall after what he had to deal with initially, & bearing in mind he probably didn't have much budget to play with.

Can someone other than MG be in charge of substitutions though?! That's about the only thing I moaned about, because overall he brought a good level of results & a style of play that was very enjoyable to watch. Bearing in mind how many of us moaned about his role during a match, I wouldn't be upset if he has more a director of football style role, with Bird & Moore doing the mucky work, as it's hard to argue with a number of the signings MG made, & some that didn't work out, looked good initially. The thing we've suffered from is what happens when certain players signed their contracts - they'd look fantastic in preseason but then fade away - I'm not singling out Finn here, but thinking more about players like Toppin & the midfielder (ex Sutton I think) whose name escapes me but we were stuck with him on contract around the same time.

One day I wouldn't mind seeing what someone like Joe Francis could do as manager, but I'll not be moaning too much whatever happens as don't forget, we have a chairman who loves the club, not one just looking at it purely as a business.

I've no problem with MG coming back. Nothing against HB either. MG has always had a good eye for a player and signed some real crackers in the last few years. If true, can't wait to see who turns up for pre season! Should be another interesting season.

As with all things now, will wait until it's on the website for it to be confirmed though given thats not exactly updated that quickly MG could have left again by the time it's up.If true and HB is staying as well then what happens if the same reasons why MG left resurface which given the personnel still there,has to be a fair chance it will happen again and it kind of makes a mockery as to why he left.Anyone know the last time he actually managed a whole season?

I was going to say the same thing Dazza, HB is MD of BFC, which basically will make him MG's boss, not sure how well that wil sit with MG.

Crazy times as ever ,Mark must care about the club ,he is like a boomerang just cant stop coming back. Bet Adeniyi is back now . On the whole i am quite upbeat about this though their could be some friction .
