...has been released by Eastleigh. Can we sign him up please? Much as I admire Toots, Adeniyi is the master in that role and I believe that his absence from the Eastleigh starting line-up in the final few weeks of the season might have contributed to their missing out on the play-offs.

Damn, I thought I was about to read that he'd signed for us. I'd defo have him back, he didn't look amazing the previous time i watched him, but a couple of weeks ago i thought he was superb, not just the goal, but the way he got the ball & made something happen with it. i'm sure he didn't give it away until the last couple of minutes of the game. keeps it nice & simple but effective. I've said before, that against the better teams in this league, I think tutu struggles to assert in midfield, but he's so versatile & has the passion for the club that some lack, that makes him a definite in the squad even if not a 1st choice starter every game.
But could we afford him though?

Lets just hope HB/JD has the same opinion of Peter as we do and t lease makes an approach before another club gets there first.

Looks like potential decent options from Welling and Eastleigh are getting snapped up / signed up already.
Hope we have decided who our manager is going to be for next season sooner rather than later and give them plenty of time to get the right players in. I'm sure Jerry has it all in hand

Well Braintree's manager is available if we would prefer to watch that style of football next year. Personally i'd rather watch what we've got & looks like any deal would be dependant on giving him a better car than he was offered. Aside from the car issue which he seems obsessed about, there are a few interesting bits regarding the budget increase he was offered & his views on whether it could sustain a club in BSP. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13361397.stm

I had a listen to that yesterday bt, the car issue seems to be more of an issue than budget to him ! He's style of football is not good in any way to watch, but no one could argue with the points they and that style put on the board last season. Although i do make you right, i would not want to watch it every week.

Think we would all want Peter back ,he would possibly be more of a replacement for Daly than Tutu though in my opinion.

I was disappointed to see local lad Anthony Riviere signing for Sutton, we could have done with him in midfield.

Yeah i saw that too & was also disappointed, though I guess Eastleigh wouldn't have released him if he was still the player he was. Arguably the same applies to Adeneyi, but I don't think his game relies on being the box to box mifielder & covering the whole pitch like Harding.
It's interesting reading a few things about the Braintree situation. One suggested Stringer & his 2 assistants did the job on a combined £400 per week. Whilst fans would happily dream of doing the job for nothing, it’s not a huge amount split 3 ways, albeit it is only a part time job & again I guess there’s many people who would be quite happy to be paid £50 to have people shout abuse at them for 90mins. It also suggests the budget offer for next year was double this year, but he felt that was not enough to give him much chance. When you look at some of the teams in the BSP, the budgets will be huge & no great surprise the likes of Lewes & Eastbourne didn’t survive long. But then again, if you don’t try, you never know & I hope we still play with some ambition – there’s no point in aiming for the play-offs if you don’t want to win them.
