Interesting article in this weeks edition.
MG - 'The spine of the team is in place but I want to bring in 4 or 5 players that I have targeted. We want to strengthen and push for promotion - we can't be a mediocre mid-table side.'
I was expecting 1 or 2 additional faces - not 4 or 5. Looks like a promising season ahead! Very glad that I took up the season ticket offer.

All sounds positive, if we can build on the form that we showed end of last season then after 5 years in the league we should be pushing for the P/Offs - Apart from the 2/3 clubs that are throwing money at it, i still think the league this year will be weaker than last. Be interesting to know which other players have agreed non-contract terms, not sure when we can announce these, but i quite like the low-key summer compared to some in the past. Quite a few of the clubs who are expecting to be up there are signing up the usual proven names from this league - will be interesting to see what level of player the 4/5 additional heads MG has mentioned come from. We seem relatively strong down the flanks, a solid central defence and excellent goalkeeper - depending who's agreed contracts i reckon a fullback or two, midfield playmaker and a couple of forwards would make the starting XI more competitive.

I heard that we were going to try to push on next season ,strikers must be priority as we dominated so many games in last couple of months of season but were not clinical enough in front of goal ,would love to keep Waldren & Araba too as i think both will get even better .

Push for promotion
Can a club like Bromley survive in a national league?

You can add Tony Taggart Sutton to Havant to your list.

All seems a tad quiet on the information coming out from the club at the mo.
Thought the two bits from Colin were good, though no update on 1st team squad for the past 4 weeks - looks like many of the others in our league have all but finalised their squads and re-signed their better players - can only assume that the 4/5 players we've got coming in are from a different level.
A good pre-season lined up though - if we get some good weather in July, hopefully get some decent crowds down the lane.

It’s only mid-late June - this time last year we thought we had a manager though weren’t sure, & thought we probably had Tutu, but that was it. So far we have Welch, Swaibu, Harwood, Fuseini, PJD, Albert & Malcolm. Even if that’s the bulk of the budget used up & we have Tutu, Patterson, Rhule, Sali & a striker & academy players on the bench, it should be enough to stay in BSS. If, on the other hand, we still have Hak & Waldren, it’s a comfortable mid table side, & a couple of additions & could challenge for play offs? I keep harping on about Tonbridge but those players are at least as good as their side.
It’s not that long since league clubs released players, so wouldn’t be surprised if there’s 1 or 2 opportunities to pick up any who don’t get a 2nd chance with another league club

We're currently 80/1 with Blue Sq to win the league. Each Way top 3 places at a quarter the odds.
Got to be worth a flutter me thinks.
Tried to steam in with £40 e/w but it has restricted me to £10 E/W. max

Dover look to be really going for it ,Willox from Ebbsfleet (who wanted to keep him),Modeste from Chelmsford are proven good players at this level .Agree its all gone a bit quiet from us but thats nothing new ,maybe we dont want the odds to drop so are keeping things quiet.

Yes, I noticed those odds. It looks pretty much as if the odds reflect where teams finished last season rather than what has happened since. Dover won't stay the course, spending way over their level, can't see it lasting. Chelmsford and Welling short-priced on last year's placing, can't see them doing any better this time round. Eastleigh seem to be spending, but not sure how much. They had a lot of non-playing hangers-on on the payroll that the new bosses cut to the bone, I'm guessing that has increased their playing budget, but again, not at all sure if they will last the season. Other clubs already announcing reduced budgets - Eastbourne state that their playing budget is 'significantly reduced' from last year, Dorchester and Farnborough both seem to be making cuts to stay solvent (and very sensibly too), all makes that 80/1 look more and more tempting - but EW is only a top three finish, if it was for the play-offs I'd probably take the plunge.
