Salisbury 0 Bromley 2 - TFT Match Report

Salisbury City 0 Bromley 2 – BSBS – 18/02/2012 – Colin Head
Bromley secured a vital win down in Wiltshire to move them up one place and improve their chances of league survival thanks to a great second half display at Salisbury.
The first half was dominated by Salisbury they put Bromley under long spells of pressure and should have done better with their chances. Williams, Fitchett & Giles all had efforts saved by Rob Welch while The Ravens only effort came late in the half when Danny Waldren had a shot saved.
The second half saw Bromley start with real purpose and take the initiative to the home side. Albert Jarrett’s wing play caused City all kinds of problems and he set up the first goal with a cross to Pierre Dubois who hit the bar before Anthony Thomas burried the rebound. Jarrett was again instrumental in the second goal crossing for Dubois who scored at the second attempt after Smith had saved his first. Soon after Thomas was denied by Smith, before play evened out for a while, but Bromley never looked in danger of conceding and richly deserved all three points with their display in the second period where Fuseini & Waldren dominated the midfield.

Quote for the game, 'This place is half Dartford, half Staines.' - Sue

Bromley: Welch, Henriques, Patterson, Harwood, Swaibu, Dubois, Waldren, Fuseini, Jarrett, Thomas, Araba. Subs: Williams, Malcolm, Medley, Taylor, Rhule.

I used to be there on the front line fighting the war. Now I am just at home on the sofa keeping score.

A great 2nd half display, and a great result. At HT I would have bitten yer hand off for a point, thought Salisbury were the better side at that moment in time. Agree with report we bossed the middle in the 2nd half, danny back to his tenacious best. Having read previous post I hope Welch gets to stay longer - he had a good game today, as did Albert on the wing, lovely stuff to watch.

The day reminded me of Braintree away last year, same result, same 2nd half dominance and 3 points you perhaps wouldn't have imagined at 3pm. As for Salisbury, in summary, they certainly ain't as good as they think they are. "Flattering to deceive" is the phrase springing to mind.

More of the same please v Chelmo at HL next Sat, would love to turn them over . Come on You Ravens ! KTF

PS make sure you watch the Championship highlights from today, McLeary scores a stunner for Forest as they win to climb out of relegation zone.... quality goal, quality player

Great result, absorbed pressure in 1st half & keeper had to deal with some tough crosses but 2nd half we ran the game Fuisini improved & Waldren had another good game ,wide players caused problems for them ,plenty of options up front too. Fair play to back 4 too for the clean sheet .Well done lads .

Ive only missed a handful of games all season & I think we've won every one of them. Sounds like the new guys came good today.

A small mention of Bromley on the football league show tonight courtesy of Steve Claridge as they discussed the McCleary goal at length. Please someone buy him this summer, he must be worth a half decent amount now?

Bl**dy excellent. What a rollercoaster season. Was a bit peeved at half time when Staines were winning but for that to turn around too, what a Saturday! Showing promotion form (result wise) now :)

In regards of the McCleary situation...I do remember reading he is out of contract at the end of the season and Forest are unable to offer him a new one due to their financial situation.

Hope I'm wrong because I'm sure Bromley would hate to lose out on the sell on fee
