Dartford 3 Bromley 1 - BSS - 29/0/2011 - Dartford came out on top in this local derby thanks to two late goals in a very entertaining game at Princes Park in front of 1,550. The game got off to a lively start with Rob Gilman heading just over for Bromley, but it was the home side who took the lead when a Gilman error at the other end let in Bradbrook to crash home from just inside the box on 6mins. The Darts then went on to dominate with Hayes and Bonner going close. Bromley created some opportunities late on with Leon Mckenzie & Harry Harding both narrowly off target. The second half saw The Darts start on top again this time Goodacre & Graham went close and Gilman had to clear one off the line when Dean Santangelo was caught out of his area. Just before the hour Mark Goldberg withdrew the ineffective front two of Hockton & McKenzie and brought on Hakeem Araba & Gareth Williams who immediately had a positive impact on the game. Bromley drew level on 63mins when Danny Waldren latched on to a poorly cleared set piece and smashed the bal past Young to make it 1-1. The game was then opened up with either side looking like they might win it, but the deciding incident came on 81mins when Nathan Green was judged to have fouled Hayes in the box in what looked like no more than a collision. Sherringham tucked away the spot kick and the home side never looked back securing the win three minutes later when a low cross by Noble was bundled over the line by Harris. The Ravens continued to battle and Aaron Rhule saw a great effort just tipped away by Young before the final whistle. The scoreline was harsh on Bromley whose efforts were applauded by the fans at the end.
Quote for the game, 'Take note Hockton!' - Garvo & Col.
Bromley: Santangelo, Udoji, Green, Gilman, Harwood, Waldren, Henriques, Harding, Dolby, Hockton, Mckenzie. Subs: Williams, Araba, Rhule, Ibrahima, Dolan.

I used to be there on the front line fighting the war. Now I am just at home on the sofa keeping score. |

The beautiful game on a bank holiday weekend.
It sounds like that although a defeat to Dartford the team battled hard and should take quite a few positives from the afternoon.
Tough weekend of football, a win and a draw would've been the aim (I am guessing) but 3 points in the bag is better than nothing.
Onwards and upwards for the boys, Sydney are cheering you on..

A very fair match report. Enjoyed the game a lot - we looked great when the subs came on early 2nd half, the game really opened up and it could've gone either way. Dolby has really grown as a player - however he needs to really work on his final ball into the box , especially with Araba around now, as that could be a potent combination. Penalty looked somewhat harsh but that's how it goes I guess, tho Bromley do seem to get the wrong side of a lot of those decisions late on in games, esp away with voiciferous home crowds. But never mind, the attitude was good and we showed great spirit for the most part, well played lads, KTF

On the whole not a bad weekend ,great win on saturday & then a decent effort at Dartford i said before the game it was a tough time to go there ,without our 1st choice full backs & Dolan & it being the 2nd game in 3 days.We did well though & when Araba & Williams came on the game looked to be going our way ,the pen was harsh but when 500 behind the goal whinge all game the ref is gonna lose his spine eventually.Harding was fouled so many times probably the most free kicks ive seen a Bromley player win since the days of Alan Scotting .Got to mention Waldren who worked his socks off in both games & looks to be a great signing ,comfortable in the middle or wide .
